Went for another training on Wednesday. It's lighter than the past few trainings I had. However, the worst thing to come is while doin' situps on a rocky pathway. It bloody peeled off my skin where the tail bone is located. And it bloody hurts now. Anyway, after resting on Monday and Tuesday, running on Wednesday is easier. I feel more energy and am able to run faster. Looks like there's a possible chance to get 5pts for 2.4km. But if my pull up station failed me, all my efforts may just go to waste. Haiz... I'm looking forward to 2nd August. Can't wait to finish this test.

Went to the gym at Yishun Stadium yesterday. My 1st time to a gym and am like a curious kid, excited and keen to try out all the heavy machines available. Supposed to rest during the weekends but an offer to join my friend to the gym, at a point when I'm in the mood to workout, is hard to turn down. Basically, to cut the long story short, I tried almost all the machines there and I've found out the weakest muscle I have! It's my pathetic triceps! Hahaha... No wonder I can hardly do the pull ups. Oops... :X

Stupid me! Curiousity kills the cat. I'm the cat that almost got killed. Trying out the strenuous work outs almost tear all my fatigue muscles. Can't quite believe I actually stayed at the gym working out for almost 4 long hours! Haiz... Fortunately, the one part of me that's really feeling the pain are my weak triceps. But I'm glad. As the saying goes... No pain, no gain.

I had better rest for the next few days...

The very common question in the science of Robotics. "After Man successfully created high A.I. robots to serve man, will these robots one day calculate out a way to outwit, outsmart and outplay their creator and take over the existence of Man on the face of this very planet Earth?

Scientists have always wanted to create high A.I. and flexible mobility in robots to serve mankind. However, they've always feared robots may turn against their creator, Man. Why did I bring up about robotics today? Simply because... I Watched I, Robot today.

In this story, one scientist did just that and put down 3 safe laws which all robots should follow.

1st Law: A ROBOT MAY NOT INJURE A HUMAN BEING OR, THROUGH INACTION, ALLOW A HUMAN BEING TO COME TO HARM.

2nd Law: A ROBOT MUST OBEY ORDERS GIVEN IT BY HUMAN BEINGS EXCEPT WHERE SUCH ORDERS WOULD CONFLICT WITH THE FIRST LAW.

3rd Law: A ROBOT MUST PROTECT ITS OWN EXISTENCE AS LONG AS SUCH PROTECTION DOES NOT CONFLICT WITH THE FIRST OR SECOND LAW.

However, as technology advanced and as computers start to have an intelligence of their own, the worst fear happened.

Conclusion: Some syntax errors but still able to compile and run. Technical errors will be solved by a believer who know almost nuts about robots. Programmes will be re-coded and peace between man and robots will be restored. Go watch it!

Training Day #5

I'll just cut my training  report short... Things improved as compared with Day #4. Short and sweet. But the best thing is... I no longer feel any pain in my hamstrings, calves and thigh muscles. No more feeling the heavy pull down by tired muscles. However, after 5 days of vigorous training, considering the sudden physical demand after months of slacking, I've to say I'm growing fatigue. So it's time to rest during the weekends and recoup and repair those tired muscles of mine.

After training was Phat Nite at NYP. Was kinda boring in da beginning and it's kinda stinky on the 'dance floor'. Music was good but atmosphere wasn't. Exceptions where music and dance were good was when the DJ played Hey Ya by Outkast, and some others which I can't quite remember. You may ask why don't I remember, and I'll simply reply there weren't an impact. As time passed till nearly 10, I made a request to the DJ to play Let's Get Retarded by the Black Eyed Peas. That song set the crowd jumpin'! And it's the only real song which I dance wildly too... Other than that particular moment, I'd say to the Live Audio, the organisers for Phat Nite, nice try.

Training Day #4

Training as usual. Started with standing broad jump. An improvement of a few centimetres. Good job! Hehe... However, muscles felt a strain. Nevermind that and carried on with shuttle run - 10.3seconds. Slower than yesterday and my hamstrings suffered another pull. Nevermind again. Rest a while and stretch again. Pull ups is next but I barely surfaced above the bar. Fatigue muscles? Nevermind, rest awhile again and proceeded to 2.4km run.

This time, I tried something different. Read an article about how some reservists trained for 2.4km run.

Here's what one 34 year old, who completed at a remarkable time( considering his age) of 10min 35sec, said,"Run at a slower than normal pace for the 1st 2 laps. Then run at normal pace for the 3rd-4th laps. Finally, run at a faster than normal pace for the remaining 2 laps."

Here's another tip I read... Count down the laps instead of counting up. It gives a psychological advantage and seems to lessen the burden of running 6 long laps.

Iswaran and I tried what they said. Started from Lap 6 and counted down as we complete each lap. Did what that 34 year old said. In the end... we had an all time low record of 13min and 30sec.

Conclusion: One man's meat is another's poison. However, the counting down method works. So i'll stick back to my normal practice on Training Day #5.

Training Day #3

Training is progressing well. Stamina's regaining and things are picking up well. Trained with Peter and Grace today. Started out with basic warm ups and stretchings. 1st stop... the standing broad jump... Did fairly well today. The worse thing is I landed on my buttocks during an attempt. It still bloody hurts now... Ouch!

Haha... Proceeded to the 4 x 10m shuttle run. The result? Excellent! It's a delight! It's 9.xx seconds. Maintained my past standard. Phew~

Then to one of my weakest... the pull ups. Again.. did a pathetic 2. While Laowai did an almost effortless 3. Well done! Hahaha... BUT still gotta GANBATTE~!

Finally to my favourite! 2.4km running! Back on that red track today was a breeze, as compared to the previous 2 days. Breathing pattern was good. I'm enjoying the run. The devil that kept chanting 'give up' in my mind was slayed today. It's mind over matter and I won the psychological game against my dark side. Hehe... The sprint in the remaining 100m was superb and it's simply icing on the cake. However... timing's still around the same as yesterday. Didn't really got the exact timing today but at least I believe stamina has improved. Since stamina is better now, I'm gonna speed up for my 2.4km run...

Training Day #4, I'm ready!

BLACK EYED PEAS LYRICS

 Let's Get It Started

Let's Get It Started, in here...
And the base keep runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin',
and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', andrunnin' runnin',
and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and...

In this context, there's no disrespect,
so, when I bust my rhyme, you break your necks.
We got five minutes for us to disconnect,
from all intellect collect the rhythm effect.
Obstacles are inefficient, follow your intuition,
free your inner soul and break away from tradition.
Coz when we beat out, girl it's pullin without.
You wouldn't believe how we wow shit out.
Burn it till it's burned out. Turn it till it's turned out.
Act up from north, west, east, south.

[Chorus:]
Everybody, everybody, let's get into it.
Get stupid.Get it started, get it started, get it started.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Yeah.

Lose control, of body and soul.
Don't move too fast, people, just take it slow.
Don't get ahead, just jump into it.
Ya'll here a body, two pieces to it.
Get stutted, get stupid.
You'll want me body people will walk you through it.
Step by step, like you're into new kid.
Inch by inch with the new solution.
Trench men hits, with no delusion.
The feeling's irresistible and that's how we movin'.

Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya...

Let's get ill, that's the deal.
At the gate, we'll bring the bud top drill. (Just)
Lose your mind this is the time,
Ya'll test this drill, Just and bang your spine. (Just)
Bob your head like epilepsy, up inside your club or in your Bentley.
Get messy, loud and sick.
Ya'll mount past slow mo in another head trip. (So)
Come then now do not correct it,
Let's get ignant, let's get hectic

[Chorus:]
Everybody, everybody, let's get into it.
Get stupid. (Come on)
Get it started (come one) , get it started (yeah), get it started.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here.
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started(woah, woah, woah) in here.
Yeah.Lets get woohoo! Lets get woohoo! (in here)
Lets get woohoo! Lets get woohoo! (in here)
Lets get woohoo!Lets get woohoo! (in here)
(yeah..Cookoo...Ah hah!)
(Cookoo...In here!)
(Cookoo...Ah hah!)

Runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'

Training Day #2

Started the day's training early in the morning with sit ups and push ups with a sleepy, restless and fatigue body. Barely able to complete the sets. But it's alright... The training has only just begun and there're more to go.

As all good atheletes know, healthy workout without healthy nutrition for the body is useless. Therefore, started the day with 2 eggs ( proteins +  vitamin B6 + B12 + D + E + iron + zinc + phosphorous + folate + riboflavin ) and 3 slices of bread ( carbohydrate ). Had more proteins and carbohydrates during lunch from fried rice. More carbohydrates from banana smoothie during break and the most important super food to help me train... H2O!!! WATER!!! Water and more water from early morning till now... Muscles need to be hydrated and I'm trying to drink more than usual. My usual? 2 glasses of water daily? =X

Completed 2.4km without any breaks during the run. Non-stop running, am back to my old self. However, completed it within a miserable all time low of 11min 20sec. Perhaps yesterday's training took a toll off me... But hey! At least I finished the 6 rounds with ease today along with lab partner, Iswaran. Started with better warming up sessions. Stretching and loosening the muscles before running helps a whole lot! I felt so much better after the long run. Went on to train on pull ups. 2 pathetic struggles. Haiz... But still got time to train more... No fear! Standing broad jump's next and only 215cm... still got 25cm more to jump in order to hit my target of 240cm. As I said earlier... Still got time to train more... No fear!

Thought I did everything correct today but missed out on 1 thing! I forgot to warm down... Haiz... Now I feel some stiffness in my hamstrings again... But again... Nevermind that... I'll remember to do so for the remaining trainings. Once again... Still got time to train more... No fear! Training Day #3... I'm ready.
Another indirect request...

Princess Mini is N I C E!!!

Whose next?

Started training today... alone~ 3 months w/o exercising put a HUGE HEAVY burden on me. Just how amazing 3 months w/o workout and to sit that 3 months in front of a computer had tortured my body!?!

Started training with a few warm ups. Some simple muscle stretching alone put me in pain! "WHAT?! " You can say that again... "WHAT?!"  Fine... -_-" Haiz... But it's fine... Continued with the warm ups. A twist here and there... Rotated clockwise and anti-clockwise. Pull the muscles from head to toe, and from left to right. Loosened up and set off down the stretch of long red tracks.

Completed 4 rounds in 8 min+... Pretty slow =( Then felt a blistering pain in the left foot... >_<" Haiz... Tried to complete the 5th round in pain and went for a break. Sat down and cooled off but yet to finish my intended target of 6 rounds. So... beared with the pain and ran off for the final round. Displeased with today's performance but on the other hand... it's pretty fine considering losing that youthful energy for the past few months.

There's still time for me... Training Day #2 tmr after school, I'll complete the 6 rounds easier than I did today. Hehe... No doubt! It's a goal I must achieve! I'm looking forward. Naruto chan, GANBATTE~!!!

"Around 4pm today, returned to my lab to continue with my 'project'. My lab partner told me a shocking news,"We're gonna have NAPFA test on 2nd August." I refused to believe it until he convinced me with hard evidence posted on the notice board just steps away from the lab. IT'S TRUE!!! The NAPFA test is on the 2nd of August and I've roughly 2 weeks to train for it. I've been thinking about the NAPFA test recently but didn't expect it to be so soon! I'm more than delighted to know this!

Why? Crazy? Perhaps... But it's simply because of 2 things that had set me in the mood for it. I went to the Singapore Police Force, Special Tactics And Rescue(S.T.A.R.) website recently. Singapore's very own version of U.S.A.'s Special Weapons And Tactics (S.W.A.T.)

Watched this 2 videos, S.T.A.R. recruitment
and Crime Watch featuring S.T.A.R. These inspired me.

Then I visited the website of Hollywood's 2003 blockbuster movie, S.W.A.T., which I watched 6 times within a month last year. Watched and recapped the S.W.A.T. trailer
Again... this inspired me further, as my obession with the elite counter-terrorists team of the police force took over.

This very quote from the movie inspired me the most...

Sgt Dan Hondo Harrelson (Samuel L.Jackson), "You're either S.W.A.T., or you're not."

I'm motivated to start training. And after the next few weeks of training, I'm gonna say what Jim Street (Colin Farrell) said, "This is what we train for."

My brain's not functioning properly today. My brain's not functioning properly today. Did i mention something's wrong with me today? Cos I think my brain's not functioning properly today. Hmmm... let me recall why...

Things did in school...
-Switch on the computer and downloaded Majulah Singapura
-Played it aloud in the lab
-Downloaded more songs which we commonly hear during National Day
-Played the songs in the lab
-It's freezing cold, raining outside... Put on hand gloves, sweater and snow cap in lab
-Continued search for more songs
-Songs downloaded/played in the lab
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 Theme
-Captain Planet Theme
-Ghostbusters Theme
-Majulah Singapura
-Count on me Singapore
-We are Singapore
-Chan Mali Chan
-Gelang Sepaku Gelang
-One People, One Nation, One Singapore
-Stand up for Singapore
-Munnaeru Vaalibaa
-Doin' silly things which I don't remember

Things did in public...
-Act without thinking
-Talking rot
-Talking crap
-Talking rubbish
-Talking shit
-Thinking outta context

Anyway... I watched the all time #1 Korean blockbuster movie, Brotherhood, today right after school. Watched it with brudders ShiJie, Kenny, WeiYong & ZhengQin. It lasted around 2hrs and 15min. Worth the value and it certainly is #1. The brotherly love is focused on throughout. It's like an asian version of Saving Private Ryan(SPR). Except for the fact that it brings the audience in with them more than SPR, in terms of emotions and suspense, etc. Surprisingly, this show which was believed to move the hearts of most viewers, didn't moved me to tears. Ironically, Spider-Man 2, which hardly moved the viewers with as much emotions as Brotherhood does, moved me to tears. Perhaps I've been sucked into the character of the elder brother. Cos in real life, I'm an elder brother to a sis and a bro. The thinking and sacrifices made by the elder bro in the movie were easily understood by me. In fact, I angered with him when his younger brother disobeyed him, after all his hardwork to save him from brutal warfare. But looking from his younger bro's perspective, I understood why he disobeyed. All their thoughts and actions in the movie, set me into a thinking mood. And in that mood, all emotions were cancelled out. And that could well be the reason why I'm not moved after all the analysis were done in my head. So if you're waiting to catch another movie... catch Brotherhood!

*There will be some misunderstanding from the above paragraph. I know that my command of english used in this is rather poor and some sentences are required to be restructured. However, pls forgive as I'd said earlier that my brain's not functioning well... Thank you for your kind understanding*

Here's a request I had recieved earlier b4 i blogged that long winded messenge... Princess.. if you're reading now... Here goes...

Eileen is N I C E!!!

Hahaha... I say it, not because she requested me to, but as a matter of fact... It's the TRUTH! Sincerely, nothing but the truth. ;]

Ok now... Don't get jealous... Who wants me to say that about him/her too? Hahaha... If you say you do... Here's a conclusion... People nowadays kinda thick-skin liao... Hahaha... Just jokin'.
The world is in a hostage situation, and it could get worse. The fight against terrorism is still underway. Is it really a fight between Good and Evil? I wouldn't agree nor would I disagree either. Are the US, UK and their allies 100% right against Iraq and other terrorising countries? I wouldn't give a definite 'YES' for an answer either. But is it right to stop terrorism as soon as possible? OF COURSE! SUDAH TENTU*!

Terrorists have been kidnapping innocent foreigners and threatening the world and their respective countries with terrorising acts. Threats to behead, kamikaze suicide bombers, innocent assaults, kidnaps, etc. Ever since the 9-11 incident, the world has turned into a new chapter of living.
Living a safe world isn't guaranteed anymore. Securities have tightened and are on the alert. The US started to turn their attention to Afghanistan, believing Osama bin Laden to be the one leading the terror attacks. Accusing Iraq of having banned weapons of mass destruction, which ironically, reported recently, an official inquiry into the quality of British intelligence used to justify the Iraq war has found that some of the sources were "seriously flawed." British PM Tony Blair accepts full responsibility for any mistakes in intelligence used to justify the Iraq war, but vehemently insists the conflict was right anyway.

Initially, the rebellions under Osama and Saddam Hussein thought the US and UK are anti-Muslim, are against their religion. However, they failed to see that, it's not the Muslims that the world is against. It's the terrorism acts which Osama and Hussein commands that the world are against. Osama and Hussein are simply using their religion as an excuse; as an excuse to make use of religious Muslim who were misled by these terrorising leaders, to fight for them. These terrorists claimed they are fighting for their Islamic rights, but they are not behaving like Muslims.

Here in Singapore, we're a multi-racial society, democratic country. And I'm proud to say that I'm a Singaporean living in such an environment. I've lots of Muslim friends, friends from foreign lands, Chinese and Indians with total respect for one another's religion. Here, we are able to live in harmony and there is no discrimination among races. What these notorious villains of the world had done were to put innocent Muslims into a state of misunderstanding in the world. Malaysia, Indonesia and other South-East Asia countries are good examples showing that real Muslims DO NOT do acts of terrorism, acts like those Iraqi rebellions are doing. And what I'm trying to say here to the whole world is, DO NOT, and I repeat again... DO NOT misunderstood Muslims as terrorists. They are totally two different group of people! Muslims are like us, longing for world peace and they need the support from us! They, too, are also fighting with us against the terrorists.

Terrorism is trying to disrupt our everyday lives. Every soldier, every person fighting in the frontline of Justice, are trying hard to restore world peace for the millions, billions and trillions of innocent lives. Here in Singapore, it's gonna be our national day very soon. We just had our Total Defence Day where we have this 5 core defences. Social, Psychological, Economic, Civic and Military defence. We each has a part to play and we must not forget that it's a part we have to play daily. It being a national day soon, singing the national anthem, taking the pledge, singing the songs such as 'One People, One Nation, One Singapore', 'Stand Up For Singapore', 'Count On Me Singapore', etc, gives me a sense of belonging, security and a will to help Singapore to defend against world terrorisms. So stand up and be proud. FIGHT TERRORISM with Pride, Honour, Valor, Vigilance, Justice, Integrity, Righteous and all the good-will in us.

As a quote from Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe...
"I hate all bungling as I do sin, but particularly bungling in politics, which leads to the misery and ruin of many thousands and millions of people."

And another quote from Abraham Lincoln...
"Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves, under a just God, cannot long retain it."

Yet another quote from Hierocles...
"We ought always to deal justly, not only with those who are just to us; and this, for fear lest by rendering them evil for evil, we should fall into the same vice."

And lastly, another quote from I. A. R. Wylie...
"We need justice. We need toleration, honesty and moral courage. These are modern virtues without which we cannot hope to control the forces science has let loose us."

Let the world show to the terrorists, that we shall fight bravely and justly. Show them that we are not afraid of them and that we are not gonna retreat without considerations; not gonna retreat by their acts of terrorism. United we stand, divided we fall...

*Sudah tentu = Of Course, in Malay

Well... It's time to share some thoughts today. Ever wonder what are the things man pursue in life? Initially, man live to survive for tomorrow. Looking for food and water. Now in modern times, food and water come easy for most and money becomes priority. The wants and the needs often come easy when there's the money exchange for goods. However, we all know from life that money can't buy everything, and happiness is one thing some Rich can't pay for. Ironically, some started poor, thinking money can buy them the things they want, making them feel happy. However, it's temporary happiness that they are actually pursuing. So the bottomline, some of the things man pursue in life is Happiness.

So today... here's something to think about what is Happiness...
Here's an easy one for a start...

Happiness is a by-product of an effort to make someone else happy.

My hp bill payments are overdued again... Haiz... Will be outta reach via hp this few days/weeks. Back to primitive living where mobile phones are not part of everyday life. Back to a world of laidback technology for me, while in a world of advanced hightech living. No more sms and calls on the move. Difficult to stay in contact with peers when out in public. Living a life like DeSheng where handphone isn't part of daily routines.

Haiz... But wait a minute! Life's what I made it to be and how I thought it'll be. Looking on the bright side of life, at least I get to take this opportunity to re-experience my pastlife. Relive the times and re-learn how to survive without handphone, a material want. It's a time to live a life closer to nature where communication is direct and face to face. To communicate like what GOD made us to be! So pardon me if contacting me is a problem during the day, pals. But then again... Do not forget we are living and studying in a world of IT, where there's such a thing called MSN Messenger. Hahaha... I'll see ya pals online when I see ya...

From now on... There'll be some food-for-thought every now and then, to guide you through your journey in life. As, ahem, Mr FieryWise, it's about time to really enlighten some souls for making the effort to visit this blog. There's a wise man who once said,"The Wise doesn't share his wisdom." However, I'm gonna sacrifice that for all of you out there, by sharing my priceless wisdom. See how noble I am... *Ahemz* As the song by Creed goes... My Sacrifice

But then again... there's another thing about wisdom... even if shared, only the wise will understand. Wisdom is a gift. It can't be taught like normal education. It's either you know or you don't. Learn and experience, cultivate and understand is the way. Do not mistake intelligence with wisdom. They are separate things. Intellgience can be measured by IQ tests, but wisdom can't be measured. Intelligence can be taught like Mathematics, but wisdom can't. Intelligence can offer you better income and jobs but not necessary happiness, but wisdom can lead you a happier life by making wise decisions. IQ levels rise and fall, but wisdom ages like good wine.

I'll stop at here for now as you think about it. More will come as you get yourself prepared to be Enlightened by FieryWise.
Peeps, I've been reading ur blogs recently and most were voicing their upsets, hatred and some negative stuffs. Com'on peeps, cheer up! Simply look on the bright side of life. Just take it EeeAzZZZZZZZZy and don't complicate life. Things are just how u set ur mind to be. CHILL!!!

Weekend's coming again... So soon! Iswaran, my lab partner, invited me to play soccer after school at school. Initially, I hesitated. Haven't kicked the bloody ball for around 2-3months, and am afraid I'll just embarrass myself on the field by looking like a total idiot should I play poorly. But it turn out just fine! All the stress that build up in me over the months were released in such sweaty football motion. I FEEL SO ALIVE especially when I put the ball into GOAL!!! It's just the kinda feeling that made me addicted to soccer. The undescribable feeling when scoring goals. Then the way I dribbled myself past the defence, and running at opponents at high speed is simply the adrenaline pump I've always been wanting to feel, ever since being trapped in a freezing 4 walls air-conditioned concrete box. I'M LOVIN' IT!!!

Sometimes to do the right things, we have to be steady, even if it means giving up the things we want the most

Watched Spider-Man 2, 2 times! Watched my 2nd just a week after I watched it my 1st time(30th June). To me, it definitely is worth the money! Spider-Man 2 is worth watching if you're a Spider-Man fan like I am. A little disappointment when he revealed his identity a little too early though but apart from that minute disappointment, it's 2 thumbs up! If you've yet to catch it and would want someone to accompany you to watch it, I'm ready for a 3rd spin! But that'll depends on my pocket's permission b4 I swing again. Haha... So catch it b4 spidey swings away.
